Someone once said -

"There comes a time in your life, when you walk away from all the drama and people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad, and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right and pray for the people who don't. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is a part of life, getting back up is living." Amen

Big bear Trip and Projects

My stitching group went on a retreat up to my cabin in Big bear and stopped by the LYS for a treat of a lesson on a new knitting stitch and also to gaze at the yarns..You know touchy feely time. :) We were all intense on learning and practicing.

This guy and his dog were too funny, he actually wore the sunglasses with no problems. :) so cute!!
Check out Allie and my favorite squirrel Chichidee they are actually friends. :) She is visiting for her daily digest of sunflower seeds and peanuts...

I finally finished my bag made of the same as a plastic coated tablecloth. I love it. Sewed on the rings to the straps, filed off the backs of the buttons and then glued them on the straps, and then added some rhinestones in the middle of the flowers for some "bling" and it is "finito!" I also made a couple of change purses with this fabulous ocean scene fabric I just love. :) just some simple small bags that close with velcro and lined with the polka dots.

I finished the shawl/scarf I was making for my daughter in Sizzle eyelash and searched out some really unique glass beads especially the oval ones that reflect all the different hues of lights that make it look like they are shinning themselves...ohhh so pretty...I am giving it to her tomorrow since she is moving in her new home I thought it would make a greart house warmimg gift!!! The pictures do not do it justice. I got the pattern out of the "Desperate Crochet" book by Annie's Attic 2005 pg 4....just love it...

Butterflies, Projects, and Summer Fun!

Good Morning everyone! I have had major "puter" problems and seemed to have aquired a "trojan virus" on my desktop!!! Oh No!!! So had to put it into the shop and then we decided to go out and buy a new laptop ...so we have a 3rd computer now and I am on it on the patio....I love the freedom it gives me when I want to "surf"....and its easy too...

I went to my fav thrift store and found some really cute pins. A couple western style and a book one

A pretty butterfly came to visit my garden yesterday....

I have been busy working on some UFOs and also getting my swaps together...plus this weekend is my LYG 1st annual "retreat" to the mts and we are staying at my cabin overnight and heading to the LYS for a class and some fun.... there are 6 of us going...should be loads of fun...

I made a little Ami Bee, It has a large washer on the bottom for standing up, a cute hat for me, I love the peach colors,it is from KnitSimple magazine Spring/Summer issue project #24 called "Crocheted Sun Hat" and finished my pens with a little bow and rhinestone.

My Little Secret...

Well over at beansies I have a task for today and that is I have to tell about something that is my "little secret" ummm... but if I tell then it won't be a secret...so can you all keep a secret???? Promise now...okay?

Here goes.... I have a bad habit of printing out every pattern I like and then storing it upstairs in my file cabinet promising myself that I will soon make it...butttttttttttttttt I have now more patterns and more yarn than I could ever possibly use and so I told my DH that I am not buying any more and when I do I hide it in my trunk of my car till he goes to work then I sneek it upstairs and mix it in with my other yarn and patterns...he never knows...but he is a little suspicious since I keep going through reems of paper like crazy.... ssssssshhhhh.....

Pink Socks and Harry Potter Contest

I am entering Beansies HP contest and combining it with "Pink Saturday"...so here are my pink socks for Dobby..... Dobby, the house elf, was very fond and sentimental about socks. After being enslaved by the Malfoys for so long, it was a sock that Harry gave him, that set him free! Dobby loved socks so much, in fact, that he would even buy yarn to knit some of his own! Isn't that wonderful?!

Work, Fun, Play, and Projects.....

Work time: Before the 4th weekend I cleared the area next to Palm tree and pond of grass and added red bark chips and stepping stones....it matches the rest now...I like the cleaner look of the chips..the ponds lilys have really grown this year...

One of the plants around the pond has a weird flower. It doesn't do anything but come out like a long stick in yellow and then it dies off never opening or making a flower??? Does anyone have any idea what this is????those large redish leaves in the background is the plant..

Fun and Work:Our trip to Big Bear over the 4th was awesome as usual..warm, clean air, and a great fireworks show...my DD came up with her hubby and I caught them playing catch with the football, DH took a break to play with them, too. He did paint the garage/shed, so I had no complaints.... :)

Play Time: My local group and I went on a yarn shop field trip on the 1st of the month,, this is the before and this is the after shopping shots...we always have such a great time and of course lunch is a must too....

I am making the awards to be handed out at our Anniversary luncheon this Sunday for my group and I am also including a collage photo for each member from the past year....it is a 5x7...

I even got gold stickers to add

Fun Work: Just finished this shawl except for the ties on the top. It was from the kit I got from my LYG Summer Exchange Beach Party in June....I just added the grey to give it more color... :) I used Lyon Brand Chenille and a size "N" hook.....

More Fun: I am making this little Barbie doll dress, hat and purse[which I have not finished yet] for the LA County Fair coming up this year....I try and enter something each year. It is fun to see what ribbon, if any, you may be lucky enough to win...So far I have been winning ribbons every year....keep your fingers crossed for this year too...

I bought this yesterday. The new "stripes" is really pretty especially this ocean color one...just love them...

Then I decided last night to make this cute pin cushion for my wrist, I used Sugar n' cream cotton yarn and it came out a tad larger than I thought so next time I will use some cotton #3 thread that I just got at my LYS last week. I got some in the prettiest peach and I think that will look good....I saw a pattern for a ring one too that I may try...this was easy and fun to make... :)

Going to use this Wizard of OZ material to make a pillow for a swap I am in on Flickr for my partner.... I love the Ruby red slippers.... :)

This little puffy of "hot chilis" has cooking tips on the back written on printable material. I have it stting on the counter for a quick look..I got it from a swap friend from the Yummy Recipe Swap last month. See my Marilyn Monroe cookie jar on the left....I collect her memoribilia.... :)
