Someone once said -

"There comes a time in your life, when you walk away from all the drama and people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad, and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right and pray for the people who don't. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is a part of life, getting back up is living." Amen

This Memory Pillow is gorgeous and is what Sissie's Shabby Cottage is giving away for her 100th blog Givaway. Be sure and check her out and post to have a chance to win one!!!

A Visitor

Guess who walked in our doggy door the other night????? I was sitting and knitting watching TV and something stirred out of the corner of my eye when I looked up towards the back laudry room which is off the living room, a big furry creature walked through the doggie door into the back room....yup a big old RACOON!!!!! I was so stunned...I yelled for DH and when he came our furry friend had turned and walked back out. Now that explains the turned oved trash can and why Allie's food was all eaten, I thought she was just hungry, and also why there were candy wrappers all over the floor and the candy dish was scattered on the floor too.... he obviously came in during the night and helped himslef....he looked more like this....

Craft Show Met Carol Duvall

I met Carol Duvall at this past weekend's craft fair.... That was fun there were a lot of crafting personalities there, but the one "queen" of crafting I really wanted to meet was Carol Duvall...and I was pleasently pleased at how nice she was in person and friendly. I so miss her craft shows and used to watch them all the time. I loved her ideas and felt like I was always working right along side of her as she presented her fans with new ideas and great crafts. Also I was excited to hear that there is a new "network" online opening for all us crafters, be sure to go check it out...  http://www.icraftnetwork.com/  it is still under construction but if you email icraftwithcarol@yahoo.com you will be alerted when it offically opens and new ideas. :)
Debbie Stoller was also there but I missed her times in her booth, craftster was there too, one of my favorite stopping places to get ideas. :)

Carol and I .... :)

Taken in the last Hour of My Backyard and Front Yard Rain Storm

We are not used to rain in So CA and this week we are having immense storms dropping 7-10" of rain daily!! For here we never get rain, last year we had 7" for the whole year!! Since we are not equiped for rain it hits us harder as the ground id too hard to absorb it fast enough and that causes flooding. We also do not have the drainage like the midwest and eastern states have that are used to rain. I tried to capture some on my video....

A Fastastic New Car and Some Funny Photos

Is this a hot looking car, or What !!! If you have a spare $135,000 its yours. You probably need to be at least 60 yrs old to really appreciate this!!! It is called a "789" Chevy...1957, 1958 & 1959 All Rolled Into One! This car was built by N2A motors (No Two Alike). Unbelievable! The company is planning a production run Of about 100 vehicles.. It sits on a Corvette C6 chassis, Front styled like a 57 Chevy, side like a 58, rear like a 59.
Hence the designation "789."

This Corvette kit my DH and I saw on the freeway the other day and had to drive beside it and take a couple photos of it. Had never seen one before and asked some experts in our car club and that is when we learned it is a modifed Corvette with a kit. Looks preety good, huh?

This is a unique swing??? Couch hanging from tree limb....LOL

Ok.... I understand but please.....

A great way to grill weenies for the whole family and serve them all at once....

Hmmm.... now how do I get to rt 35?

Need a job??.... Opps forgot to tell you we're going out of business??? LOL

TGIF Decisions on What to Make and What to Read

Went around the house today after having the decorations all down and finally put up in the garage on the shelves, and it sure looks bare...but back to normal... :) I got a new book by J. Johnston called"Shattered" it is a mystery and looks interesting, so I may start it this weekend....

I also thinking of making the g-daughter this cute "weiner" dog that you have your friends sign ...I remember when they were really popular when I was little....the pattern looks pretty simple...
I love Garfield and had to share this pic of my pillow Garfield... :) my g-kids love to play with him when they come by....
I have all the Mitford series books and I am on the 2nd one right now. I love this series and the fact that a map of the town is in the book allows you to really place all the characters as your reading.

Took a photo off our balcony the sun was shining and that is the oean way off in the horizon.... :)

remember these sweaters? These were real popular during the 70s and sold cheap in Mexico....they are extremely thick and I thought I might make some slippers out of it. I have two and they are never worn, so that might work...

Some Funny Perks when You're Approaching 50, 60, 70!

One of my visits to an online friend Crocheting My Worsted the net I ran across this cute list of things that can happen to us as we approach our senior years....

The many perks of getting past 50, moving in on 60 or even plunging towards 70! --

1. Kidnappers are not very interested in you.
2. In a hostage situation you are likely to be released first.
3. No one expects you to run--anywhere.
4. People call at 9 pm and ask, did I wake you?
5. People no longer view you as a hypochondriac.
6. There is nothing left to learn the hard way.
7. Things you buy now won't wear out.
8. You can eat supper at 4 pm.
9. You can live without sex but not your glasses.
10. You get into heated arguments about pension plans.
11. You no longer think of speed limits as a challenge.
12. You quit trying to hold your stomach in no matter who walks into the room.
13. You sing along with elevator music.
14. Your eyes won't get much worse.
15 . Your investment in health insurance is finally beginning to pay off.
16. Your joints are more accurate meteorologists than the national weather service.
17. Your secrets are safe with your friends because they can't remember them either.
18. Your supply of brain cells is finally down to manageable size.
19. You can't remember who sent you this list.
Forward this to every one you can remember right now!
And Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night. LOL.....

Happy New Year

Happy  2010
It's already and now is the time to start it off right.. I went yesterday and got the new James Patterson's book, "I Alex Cross" yeah I fell for the commercial, but I do like his books so I am off to read a bit...and then I want to write a few pen pals, and then I want to start one of my New Year's "res" and that is to rearrange my craft room...I just need to make more working space...

I also want to try walking at least 3x a week starting Monday so I am looking for a walking plan on the web that I can follow....and some good books to listen to....

Next I have just ordered a new pattern for a REader's Shawl" that looks comfy and I canno wait to start crocheting it.

Right now I have Twilight Zone's Marathon on the TV...I cannot resist them...anyone else watch them?
