Someone once said -

"There comes a time in your life, when you walk away from all the drama and people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad, and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right and pray for the people who don't. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is a part of life, getting back up is living." Amen

Remember When Mom Said...................

These are funny...I remember when my mom used to say all of these to me...how about you? do you remember some or all of these threats from MOM and or Dad? I can honestly say that I too used some of thes on my children as they were growing up...and over the years I have heard my daughter use some of these on her children which put a smile on my face remembering back when mom said them to me .... some things never change in life.
What My Mom Taught Me.....

1. My mother taught me TO APPRECIATE A JOB WELL DONE .
"If you're going to kill each other, do it outside.. I just finished cleaning."

2. My mother taught me RELIGION.
"You better pray that will come out of the carpet."

3. My mother taught me about TIME TRAVEL.
"If you don't straighten up, I'm going to knock you into the middle of next week!"

4. My mother taught me LOGIC.
"Because I said so, that's why."

5. My mother taught me MORE LOGIC .
"If you fall out of that swing and break your neck, you're not going to the store with me."

6. My mother taught me FORESIGHT.
"Make sure you wear clean underwear, in case you're in an accident."

7. My mother taught me IRONY.
"Keep crying, and I'll give you something to cry about."

8. My mother taught me about the science of OSMOSIS .
"Shut your mouth and eat your supper."

9. My mother taught me about CONTORTION-ISM.
"Will you look at that dirt on the back of your neck!"

10. My mother taught me about STAMINA ..
"You'll sit there until all that spinach is gone."

11. My mother taught me about WEATHER.

"This room of yours looks as if a tornado went through it."

12. My mother taught me about HYPOCRISY.
I told you once, I've told you a million times. Don't exaggerate!"

13. My mother taught me the CIRCLE OF LIFE.
"I brought you into this world, and I can take you out.."

14. My mother taught me about BEHAVIOR MODIFICATION .
"Stop acting like your father!"

15. My mother taught me about ENVY.
"There are millions of less fortunate children in this world who don't have wonderful parents like you do."

16. My mother taught me about ANTICIPATION.

"Just wait until we get home."

17. My mother taught me about RECEIVING .
"You are going to get it when you get home!"

18. My mother taught me MEDICAL SCIENCE.
"If you don't stop crossing your eyes, they are going to get stuck that way."

19. My mother taught me ESP.
"Put your sweater on; don't you think I know when you are cold?"

20. My mother taught me HUMOR.
"When that lawn mower cuts off your toes, don't come running to me."

21. My mother taught me HOW TO BECOME AN ADULT .
"If you don't eat your vegetables, you'll never grow up."

22. My mother taught me GENETICS.
"You're just like your father."

23. My mother taught me about my ROOTS.
"Shut that door behind you. Do you think you were born in a barn?"

24. My mother taught me WISDOM.
"When you get to be my age, you'll understand."

25. My mother taught me about JUSTICE.
"One day you'll have kids, and I hope they turn out just like you !"

But, there is one missing from this list~~My personal all time favorite!!
My mother taught me about CHOICE.
"Do you want me to stop this car?"

LOL.....brings back memories ..huh?

Make a Cute Headband Holder

I was at pinterest checking out the latest and saw this under "organization" and thought it was a great idea, any little girl would love....it is really easy,

  1. just get an empty oatmeal container,
  2. use some pretty fabric or some pretty scrapbook paper
  3. wrap it around the container measuring the exact fit
  4. don't forget the top
  5. for the top you will need to glue around the edge of the top and then push the fabric around easing it around and you might have to cut small slits to get the wrinkles to go away
  6. cut to fit [see the tutorial for exact fitting directions]
  7. either use double sided tape or I use all purpose crafting glue
  8. let it sit overnight if you glue it to set it
  9. After it has dried you can add a flower to the top either silk, or crochet one, or use some fabric and just hot glue it in place leting it drape ove and twist it in places to make it look pretty
  10. that's it now just wrap those headbands around it....

Craft Room Make Over

I'm cleaning my craft room...yippy!!! This is such a great sign to hang...

It's starting to look like this one
I want to make it more managable so that I can find my yarn and also so I can at least know what project to do next.

I have been putting yarn to projects with the yarn in bags and have so many bags now that I cannot remember yet alone pick a project!!! So off to the store to get yet more plastic drawers to store my yarn in. and then to change the layout and then to start sorting. [I have already doen some of that....I was shocked at all the colors and different ply yarns I actually have...

I can dream look at this one....wow
Once it is clean I can actually have a meeting or two up there. :) maybe even a party... :)

This one is great too

Once I finish mine I will be posting

Big Kick--Macrame'--and Some Other Pretty Projects!!

I got a Big Shot Sizzix over a year ago and have never used it??? I was kind of intimidated with it I guess but after reading all the different uses that Keep Calm and Craft On has posted about it I am now excited to experiment with it...

With the right dies you can make just about anything from flowers to bees to any shape....and you can cut cans, burlap and fabric....yippy....

Remember in the 70s when we used to Macrame'??? Ok I am dating myself...lol....but I used to love doing it, well I found a couple of my mom's old books and have decided to try it again...one thing she made that I really loved was a hanging table....she was soooo talented... :)

Check out this beautiful bag...over at Expression's  handmade black crochet and macrame purse I just love this

My mom had made this one in white....don't know what happened to it but it always hung in the hallway..

Modern Craft has some great photos of Macrame' projects...

Ohhh and I love these

shown over at Macrame' Lovers site a great place for those who love Macrame'

This table even has a light in it... yummy   at Sheldon's Macrame'

No matter what you decide to make it is sturdy and can be so pretty...think of the possiblilities available for the patio or spare room or the living room...???

And for working in the garden I thought these crocheted gloves were too pretty....there is a FREE pattern on the site aren't these the prettiest green???

And check out these cute hangers with an extra flower trim that makes them oh so femmine... over at MarmaladeRose
