Someone once said -

"There comes a time in your life, when you walk away from all the drama and people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad, and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right and pray for the people who don't. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is a part of life, getting back up is living." Amen

The Chicken Dance Contest with Velveeta Cheese and the Apron Queen

Ok I have not lost my rocker...nooo I am doing the "Chicken Dance" for the contest over on "Confession's of an Apron Queen's" blog for the Velveeta Cheese challenge... so be sure and pop over there and vote for her....I made her recipe for the "Ay Caramba Chicken Spaghetti" which is really yummy, I didn't add the chiles and hanged it to regular velveeta as I am not into spicy and it was really good.....matter fact it was so good that my family, my DH and I, had to do the the dance after we ate it...

And she is having this challenge which includes a contest for her wonderful aprons...I am in my apron here which is my "spooky" apron for Halloween....now don't you think my DH deserves a reward for his dance???? lol.....

At the stove...now don't forget to vote for The Apron Queen!!!!!!

Vintage Buttons

I love Vintage things and one of the cutest vintage items I got from a swap and used this week was these cool buttons. They are hand painted and big old black vintage style. They worked perfect for my "Little House on the Praire" costume for Halloween I put one on my hat, one on each apron pocket and the last one on my bag...
.
This jeweled bird used to be all the rage back in the 70s for your bath....I found this beauty at an estate sale.. :)

I Joined a Material Post Card Exchange

Over at The Quilt Journey with Brenda I joined up for a wonderful "Fabric Post Card" swap. No pressure no real rules, just fun in making post cards and sending them off whenever. Now I have never made any before so it may be a little challenge for me, but I was looking for some different and I think this will be fun...

You make them yourself and design them however you want. I googled a couple sites and come up with these ones to help out on the basics. About.com shows some interesting ideas and Making Post Cards explains easy steps to making a fabric post card and Deb R has a really great tutorial on making them, and I like this one for a list of funny sayings to put on your PO. And the photo comes from another great tutorial over at Calidore so be sure and check it out.

Aftert he 4th and Back into the Swing of Things

We had a wonderful time at our cabin in Big Bear. It is always so much fun to go up there. I love listening to the wind blow through the pines. It builds up and "swishes" through sounding like a waterfalls. :)
Oh the pic is me at my local "Summer Yarn Exchange" party with my crochet/knit group from the 19th of June. IT was so much fun and lots of goodies. This is the loot I won. All kinds of materials to make tons of scrunchies with beads, sequins, flowers, and lots more...yummy!!
Anyways I finished my "kitchen" items for my swap partner in the "All Around the House" swap. I made her a pot holder, since she said she was out of them and I also made her a matching srubber. I like to make them they are fun and so handy.

Now I have to mail out my July swaps and get to work on Beelicious' apron, I am so glad I am a partner with her, for the "Halloween" apron swap. I am wondering what I should make???? I really like Halloween and making an apron should be lots of fun especially designing it in that theme... :)

I also need to get myself in gear and finish some of my WIP that are scattered all over the place....wow....time flies. I am now entering the LA County Fair and need to get those items going too....too much to do...I do have a few items finished for the November craft fair that will be here before you know it.
