Someone once said -

"There comes a time in your life, when you walk away from all the drama and people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad, and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right and pray for the people who don't. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is a part of life, getting back up is living." Amen

This is the New Kind of "Tagging" Called "Knit Tagging"

Urban knitting: the world's most inoffensive graffiti
There's a new form of graffiti in town, and it's extremely pleasant. so pleasant that it hasn't even disturbed the harshest critics of regular graffiti amd it's getting wound up. I mean, who in their right mind would come face to face with a sweater-wearing tree and do anything but smile? This video from a group going by the name of knitta please, a renowned and nimble fingered group of rebels has been covering public property with guerilla knitting for some time.

Some Great Friend Sayings and Patterns??

Why not knit or crochet your friend a cupcake for their birthday, or for any occasion, they're cute and easy to make and you can decorate them any way you want to personalize them for any friend.. :) Or how about a birthday hat????

Or make a crocheted book and insert a poem..

A friend is someone that you hold dear,
Someone who will always be there to hear,
The good the bad your dreams and your fears,
When your at your best or shedding a tear;
A friend is someone you feel comfortable around,
Someone who you trust when you are lost to be found.
The anger the pain the hurt and the sound,
When your slipping and falling and crash to the ground;
A friend is someone who will always be there,
Someone who you know will unconditionally care,
The moments the memories the unfortunate the unfair,
A true friend is hard to come by it's true,
Someone who truly cares when you are blue,
The times you fell, you walked, and you flew,
Then I found one of these friends in YOU.......

What's New?

My daughter had a "B" day and so she came over and her and the girls and I got to spend a "girls" night with each other. WE talked and ate cake and the girls played dress up with their closet full of clothes I keep for them to play with when they come over. They had fun and then I kept them the following day while my DD went to work. G-ma's day...

I love these pot holder mits. They are not hard to make and they make really good mats when you have a hot pot, too... I have a ton of material and plan on making some more. :)

Jury Findings? True or False??? The Flag and its Folds?

True or False????

Kara Walton of Claymont, Delaware, successfully sued the owner of a night club in a neighboring city when she fell from the bathroom window to the floor and knocked out her two front teeth.
This occurred while Ms. Walton was trying to sneak through the window in the ladies room to avoid paying the $3.50 cover charge. She was awarded $12,000 and dental expenses.

Is it true or false? Some sites say that this is a fabricated case and that the real Kara Walton was 81 yrs old when this case was suppose to happen in 1994. hmmmm...that was from snoops...What do you think???

Do you know that at military funerals and in honor of a national flag, the sovereign or chief of state of a foreign nation, a member of a reigning royal family, and the President, ex-President and President-elect of the United States, the 21-gun salute is fired and stands for the sum of the numbers in the year 1776?

Have you ever noticed the honor guard pays meticulous attention to correctly folding the United States of America Flag 13 times?

Some think it's to symbolize the original 13 colonies, but read on:
  • The 1st fold of the flag is a symbol of life..
  • The 2nd fold is a symbol of the belief in eternal life.
  • The 3rd fold is made in honor and remembrance of the veterans departing the ranks who gave a portion of their lives for the defense of the country to attain peace throughout the world.
  • The 4th fold represents the weaker nature, for as American citizens trusting in God, it is to Him we turn in times of peace as well as in time of war for His divine guidance.
  • The 5th fold is a tribute to the country, for in the words of Stephen Decatur, 'Our Country, in dealing with other countries, may she always be right; but it is still our country, right or wrong.
  • 'The 6th fold is for where people's hearts lie. It is with their heart that they pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States Of America.
  • The 7th fold is a tribute to our Armed Forces, for it is through the Armed Forces that we protect our country and our flag against all her enemies, whether they be found within or without the boundaries of our Republic.
  • The 8th fold is a tribute to the one who entered into the valley of the shadow of death, that we might see the light of day
  • The 9th fold is a tribute to womanhood, and Mothers. For it has been through their faith, their love, loyalty and devotion that the character of the men and women who have made this country great has been molded.
  • The 10th fold is a tribute to the father, for he, too, has given his sons and daughters for the defense of their country since they were first born.
  • The 11th fold represents the lower portion of the seal of King David and King Solomon and glorifies in the Hebrews eyes, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
  • The 12th fold represents an emblem of eternity and glorifies, in the Christian's eyes, God the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit.
  • The 13th fold, or when the flag is completely folded, the stars are uppermost reminding them of their nations motto, 'In God We Trust.'
  • After the flag is completely folded and tucked in, it takes on the appearance of a cocked hat, ever reminding us of the soldiers who served under General George Washington, and the Sailors and Marines who served under Captain John Paul Jones, who were followed by their comrades and shipmates in the Armed Forces of the United States, preserving for them the rights, privileges and freedoms they enjoy today.

Lunch, Projects, and RR Scarf

I went to lunch today with a new friend and she took me to this quaint little cafe in the "shore" area. It was called "The Potholder" how cute is that? :) We chatted up a storm, and before we left she took me on a tour of her 1920s house...really adorable layout, she has tons of goodies, vintage, chic, country and comfortable....but I was really impressed with a little area she added to her living room where she put in a fireplace and two window seats, then she covered a huge square coffee table with beauticful flowered material...very cozy...made me want to sit and grab a book or my crochet... :) I had a great afternoon...I am making a RR scarf for my crochet group and all we do is make about 10" and then pass it on this is my 10" and my journal that goes with my scarf for each person to note their progress when they crochet or knit it...
then I have been working on red, white, and blue dining room items to send to my partner in the "All Around the House" swap this month. I made a table mat, napkin rings, and napkins. I have 3 more napkins to make...
