I love framed photos and great meaningful sayings. This is one of my favorites about the "Sand dollar" Be sure to enlage it and read it.

My neice made me this old post card collage, it depics where I have lived,

vacation annually, and where I was born. It was a terrific present and I cherish it... My music box and trinket collection. I love musical things.....some are very old, some given to me by friends and family, and some I have found in antique stores, estate sales, and even a garage sale especially when I visit my sis in upstate NY.

The two girls dancing above, was a gift from a very good friend of mine.

The yellow duck is the cutest and I found him while visiting my cuz in Kansas City, MO. It actually plays singing in the rain.. :)

The old firetruck I got in Yosemite and the horse cream colored box was a gift from a work friend.

The photos are ones I have taken on trips and framed.

Except this one was actually painted by a local artist and is of one of the local beaches. Can you guess which one?

The next one is of course from our favorite annual family camping spot, Bass Lake.

The next one is from St Thomas in the Virgin Islands, where DH and I went on a cruise...was one of the prettiest places ever.

This beautiful row of Eucaliptus trees is in Morro Bay and is the prettiest pathway almost like a painting.

The sunset is from Florida on one of our visits there. It was off the beach on Treasure Island near Tampa.

Lastly is the best of all, my family gallery. They are all in Sepia tone and several generations of my family. Thanks for visiting my photo gallery!

Aren't these just the cutes flip flop slippers, I thought I could use them when I get a pedicure???

And this purple necklace is perfect for my Red Hats ball coming up!!

I loved this plastic dish, at only 34 cents!!!

These boxes I got at the local store, but I just love boxes...and the round one has a little tray indside for smaller items... So cute!!!

What Not To Crochet?

Ok this is pretty bad, but some may like it ???? I visited my favorite site and this is what I found...These covers.....I like the banana but can I put my pen in it???

And these clogs, well I happen to like these and I am seriously thinking of making a pair. All you have to do is find the bottom half somewhere to use.

What is The Halo Effect on Yarn????

What is the "halo" you keep hearing about? Halo is simply the name given to the "fluffiness" of the yarn or finished piece, such as in commercial Mohair yarn or a finished Angora Sweater. What makes up the "halo" are the tiny, almost microscopic hairs that have worked one end out of the twist and thus creates a fluffy, halo like appearance. Don't be fooled by the initial appearance of your Keepsake Yarn. More often than not, when you receive your keepsake yarn, it will look quite similar to commercial yarn. Handling of your keepsake yarn or finished product results in separating the finer hairs from the main twist. As you work with your keepsake yarn, you will start to see the halo emerge. We went up to the cabin this weekend. It was cold...burrr in the low 30s and the water pipe burst and had to be fixed. There was not a lot of snow, but old Foxy had her sweater on to keep her warm....

Spooky Times and Ravens! But I got my Wand

I think now that I am at Hogwarts that the House of Ravenclaw has sent over their spys...just look at them all congregating around my dorm...I'm not sure but they remind me of that movie "The Birds" don't they? Remember the one by Alfred Hitchcock? It was a terror in its time. When they hung around gawking and making those awful "caw" sounds....Its a wee bit scary....but the ones now are across the lawn from me and gathering by the dozens, see them in the trees?

I was over at Dragon Alley and tried to adopt a pet dragon but was unable to??? Anyone know why? I did take a stoll in the park and sat on tehbench and then took a look at the stream, it was nice there...

How long have you been knitting & how did you learn? well about 20+ years and I learned from my mom, I am a much better crocheter, however I have been knitting more so I thought this swap whould be good practice for me. :)

What are your favorite colors? mainly in the red family, burgundy, pinks, and I also like blues and greens, any color is ok with me

Christmas Party for my Local Knitting and Crocheters

Here is the best party of the year! When my local group gets together for the annual Christmas Party Exchange. I really needed this party to give me a quick "brain" break from my son's accident. It really was a wonderful few hours of escape and allowed me to breath a little easier... :) I won a wonderful basket full of yarn, lighted crochet hook, I have been wanting one for some time now, and a new knitting book...with a little teddy bear Christmas ornament. And check out the yummy treats and cookies!!! Thank you everyone for such a great party!!...

Ok I Weighed In

Hip Hip Hooray! I just weighed in at WW and I lost another 1lb 2 oz. That makes a grand total of 7lb 2 oz. So I am slow but surely on my way to reach my goal of 25 lbs. I just started to walk this week. I walked down to the end of our street and up the side street to the main street and back down and over. About 1 mile. It was a good 20 minute jot. I feel good about it.

I am getting used to being a little hungry when I finish my meals and go to bed and I am starting to restrain myself from grabbing snack foods and sticking to my eating regime. I also have learned to eat 1/2 sandwiches when I eat out and always to order a salad and fill up on that type of food with the dressing on the side to just dunk my salad goodies in. It is working and I am looking forward into fitting into those jeans again.

Sad News and Good News

Our youngest son was in an awful motorcycle accident 9 days ago. He was on life support for the whole time and the good news is that they have just taken him off...and he is breathing on his own...thank you so much to all for your prayers....he has a long way to full recovery, but he will recover....it is just a rough time for our home so I will not be blogging a lot for next few weeks.

So....... this Saturday I am posting I love BOOKS ??? I took this photo of "some" of my books that I have in my livingroom and my diningroom, I still have another upstairs and I always carry one in my purse, car, and beside the chair where I read. I canno think of anything more fun than going into a bookstore for an afternoon of feasting my eyes on new books. Books are my "love" photo for today!
